The Team - Get This Wiki!

This is where someone will add a witty comment about the Get This team. Despite our best efforts, we haven't really come up with anything witty on par with the genius that is Ricardo Marslando's Vengabus, Ed's ill-prepared sketches or Tony's all round brilliance.

Instead we have some team member profiles, some links, and maybe a YouTube video. Not necessarily because it has anything to do with the show, but because it makes us look semi-organised. Or, for those 'weekend' listeners, here is where you can get to know the brains behind Get This.

Tony Martin (Host)

The Team - Get This Wiki!Tony Martin is the brains behind Get This. Despite this work of genius, he is better known for his roles in the D-Generation's Late Show and his part time job as Waldo (Wally in Australia) in the Where's Waldo/Wally? books. He can also been seen in Channel Ten's hit show Thank God You're Here, where he has played a crack commando targeting 'suspicious' television watching and Captain Pissweak himself...though not at the same time. But if he gave it a crack, the results would be classic Tony.

Originally from Te Kuiti in New Zealand, Tony started his life as a twig. After a few years of hanging around he found his answer blowing in the wind and he branched off after he realized that people would pay money to see him talk. It was at this point that he found out that he was funny (...well his family pissed themselves laughing when he said "I want to make people laugh").

Tony's whereabouts are currently unknown. But there has been reports he is writing another book. We suspect he's still trying to keep his dog, Bea, from getting to that crumb under the fridge.

Ed Kavalee (Co-Host)

The Team - Get This Wiki!Ed, a.k.a the Penguin, is known for his work as Gus on the Gus and Dave KFC ads, but might be better known for his work on Channel Ten's Thank God You're Here, as part of the ensemble cast. When Tony is on the show, and sharing a scene with Ed, a Nickelback joke is sure to be slipped in there somewhere...well, amongst the tuna salad escapades and failed sketch attempts.

Ed also made a movie called Meat Pie in which he stars as a naive young man who receives a...transplant of sorts. However, Ed has not been given any credit for his work, nor has the film been given a release date. This makes us think that there is no such movie and the trailer on YouTube is just a ploy to raise Ed's popularity. If one can stomach seeing his 'plums' made into mincemeat....

Ed has just completed filming $quid: The Movie. The movie is about a New Years Eve cruise on the Brisbane River which is attacked by a giant squid.

Ed can now be heard on Nova on 'The Wrong Way Home', as well as filling in on the breakfast show. We here at the Get This Wiki wish Ed good luck.

Richard Marsland (On the buttons)

The Team - Get This Wiki!Richard Marsland, a.k.a The Joker, is the button pusher who likes to white-ant his way to the top of anything he's involved in. Richard lends his writing talents to Rove Live and Newstopia, did some community television on channel 31's the breakfast show, and has unknowingly lent his name to recycled effluent. He lives in a ditch full of Wizz-Fizz and pasta sauce. Possessing a naturally effeminate voice, Richard Marsland speaks through a vocoder during most broadcasts. However, in rare interviews Marsland can be heard using his natural voice, which when heard by the human ear will course your head to explode (we went through 5 atoms before we figured that out.) where he has admitted to liking Dean Geyer and Bratz dolls.

Richard is still on the Triple M network where he can be heard on the new Peter and Myf breakfast show in Melbourne. And yes his name is still not in the shows intro. though, if it did just like get this it may get canned. We here at the Get This Wiki wish Richard good luck.

Nikki Hamilton (Producer)

The Team - Get This Wiki!Nikki produces the show, as her esteemed title states. As we mentioned before: "She's also pregnant AND was sideswiped a few weeks back (though these two events don't appear to be connected)". Will the last Get This be the day she gives birth on air while Ed is eating what he thinks is soup?" Well, if you tuned into the final show (if you did not, eternal shame on you...unless the thugs in the scallop industry were involved), Nikki gave birth to little Buster 20 minutes before the team went to air. Congratulations!!!

Matt Dower (Pots and pans)

The Team - Get This Wiki!Matty "The Prisoner" D. A genius with those pots and pans. And he's quite good at putting sketches together too. No one knows who he is. All we know is that he is fed a carrot once a day and doesn't get to see his wife much due to him being chained to the pots and pans desk at the insistence of Ed. There are rumours of tapes floating around from his days as host of the "Hour of Dower" in Gympie...We'll let you know when we have hold of it.

Cecelia Ramsdale (On the phones)

There's no better way to make your afternoon than to hear Cecilia say "Thanks for calling Triple M" before hanging up on your lowly, ill conceived contribution to the day's phone-in topic. It's also nice to receive an email from her enquiring about what t-shirt size you want for your Capril T-Shirt. In short, she's the one that puts up with all of us fans, and does a bit of the pots and pans work editing Get That, which goes to air when nobody is listening or when "technical difficulties" occur. But we know that's not her fault. Cheers anyway!

Katie 'Monty' Dimond (On the phones alumni)

The 104.9 Star FM host formerly known as 'Katie on the phones'. Had the telepathic foresight to leave the Triple M studios well before the sacking...or to escape Ed's constant barrage of innuendo.
Katie is now the co-host, along with frequent Get This co-host Ryan Shelton, of Nova FM's Saturday morning show 'Ryan & Monty', 10am-12noon on the Nova network

Bear (Early days button pusher)

In the early days before Rich there was Bear. He seems to have fallen of the face of the earth. Damn those thugs in the scallop industry. By all reports, he is not an actual bear.

He was Richard for the first month or so. Just after peoples' opinions on whether he deserves a page.
